Inside America’s Illegal Immigrant Gang Epidemic

Members of the murderous MS-13 gang continue to wreak havoc and murder in American communities while Democrats lure them from Central America with open borders, sanctuary cities, and now want to give these killers free health care.

President Donald Trump made MS-13 the face of the criminal illegal immigration problem during his first year in office. The left’s response charged that American citizens commit more crimes than illegal gang members. If that were not insulting enough to hardworking people, they ignore the plague that has snatched America’s sons and daughters from mothers and fathers. Recent reports coming out of Maryland indicate six MS-13 gang members have been charged in yet another murder, according to the Baltimore Police Department and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“We know this group of individuals was conducting surveillance on him. They were watching him, following him. We know they watched as he left the laundromat and went back across the street to the apartment complex and that is where some of those individuals accosted him,” Baltimore County Police Officer Jennifer Peach said. “We know they used knives and multiple people stabbed him multiple times.”

The latest victim was 21-year-old Maryland resident Daniel Alejandro Alvarado Cuellar. One of the MS-13 members charged with murder as an adult was a minor, 16-year-old Leonel Alexander Velasquez-Hernadez. The Honduran gang that infiltrated the U.S. crossing the southern border has been hard at work recruiting minors to swell its ranks, and many take advantage of the loopholes that force ICE to release them into the population, even if they have violent pasts.

Maryland residents were stunned when MS-13 thugs slaughtered a 14-year-old girl with a machete earlier this year. In Virginia, a 16-year-old boy was stabbed more than 100 times. His body was dumped on a roadside and set on fire. Federal officials are reporting a surge in MS-13 recruitment and the spread of its criminal enterprises in the nation’s capital, among other areas.

“We’ve seen a rise in gang activity here this spring. There have been a few homicides in the region, as you’ve seen,” Northern Virginia Gang Task Force, director Jay Lanham reportedly said. “Last year, we saw the gangs, especially MS-13, laying low. We arrested a lot of the program and clique leaders, so their leadership was lacking.”

According to reports, MS-13 began infiltrating California in the late 1970s. The crime syndicate has grown to approximately 10,000 across 40 states. Although incursions into the U.S. were significantly curbed during President George W. Bush’s crackdown on illegal immigration, criminals began flooding the country during the Obama years.

Since 2012, more than 200 murders have been linked to MS-13 illegals, and upwards of 500 substantial felony cases are open. Among the worst include child sex slavery, and in one sickening case where gang members cut out their victim’s heart with machetes. Many of the gang concentrations have been tied to Obama-era policies allowing “unaccompanied minors” to remain in the U.S., and these criminals have been found enrolled on Obama’s signature DACA program.

“The MS-13 members identified in the cases we found were accused of very serious crimes, including 207 murders. More than 100 were accused of conspiracy, racketeering, and dozens of others were charged with drug trafficking, sex trafficking, attempted murder, sexual assaults, and extortion,” ICE official Jessica M. Vaughan stated in a report on the gang.

Over the last two years, more than 900 of MS-13’s violent offenders have been caught trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border. Although the Trump Administration has fought with Democrats to secure the southern border, uprooting violent street gangs has been an uphill battle.

“The proliferation of sanctuaries may complicate disruption of MS-13. Many of the hotbeds of MS-13 activity are also places where local officials have adopted sanctuary policies. These policies prevent ICE from working effectively with local law enforcement agencies,” an ICE report states. “There are approximately 300 sanctuary jurisdictions in the country, and they include municipalities, counties, and states. About half of the MS-13 arrests in our case set (222) occurred in sanctuary jurisdictions.”

Democrats continue to make outlandish arguments pushed in the fake news media that MS-13 is not a substantial problem. The Central American organization continues to strategically use loopholes created by far-left policies to grow its cancer in communities across the country. MS-13 and other gangs are a plague that operates with impunity under the protection of sanctuary city policies, DACA protections, catch-and-release loopholes, and misinformation by fake news outlets.
