WATCH: CNN’s Don Lemon LOSES It Over Trump’s Latest Meme Drop

President Donald Trump earned the ire of the mainstream media once again after a Twitter account linked with his re-election campaign shared a video comparing the commander-in-chief to Thanos, the arch villain the Marvel universe.

The video shows the president’s face photoshopped over the head of the character as he snaps his fingers, using his powers to turn his political opponents into dust. The scene comes from a part in the films where Thanos, a character that wants to eliminate half of all life in the universe, uses the Infinity Gauntlet to do so.

In the scene, Thanos announces that he is “inevitable.” The tweet showing the video re-appropriated the phrase, referring to the idea that there is simply no way President Trump is going to lose to a Democrat in 2020. After the fingers snap, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democratic leaders can be seen fading into dust the same way many Marvel characters did in the film Avengers: Infinity War.

Heres the full clip:

Naturally, Trump’s critics in the mainstream media didn’t see the humor in the situation, with some going so far as to suggest that the president was calling for the murder of those who oppose him. CNN’s Don Lemon appeared to struggle when he discussed the meme during his broadcast.

This isn’t the first time Trump has triggered this sort of reaction over his online behavior. In November, the president stopped the presses when he shared a clearly doctored image of his face on the body of Rocky Balboa, the famous fictional boxer portrayed on film by Sylvester Stallone. Earlier on in his presidency, the president shared a video of his own appearance on the pro-wrestling program WWE, where his stage combat opponent had an image of CNN’s logo super-imposed over him.
